The Russian team, the winner of the Chess Olympiad in Tromso and four-times silver medallist of previous Women’s World Team Championships, will also play this time without top seed Katerina Lagno. The leader of the team will be replaced by rising star Alexandra Goryachkina, so nevertheless the Russian team remains one of the favourites in the tournament.

Ukrainian team, the winner of the previous WWCTC, composed the team with the strongest Ukrainian players, including Women World Champion Maria Muzychuk. it will be the first official event attended by Maria since she won the title in Sochi.  Ukrainian team will undoubtedly fight for medals in that championship.

The organizers of the coming event are Chinese Chess Assosiation, FIDE World Chess Federation, with the support of Board and Card Administrative Center of General Administration of Sport of China and Chengdu Municipal Government.
